An Elocution Competition was held house-wise among the four houses of the school. Students from Std I to Std V enthusiastically participated and confidently expressed their views on a variety of topics. Their excellent communication skills, confidence, clear pronunciation, and stage presence made the competition engaging and inspiring. The event encouraged students to overcome stage fear and develop their public speaking abilities.
The competition was judged by our respected Principal, Mrs. Vinita Lewis, and Ms. Esperance Alphonso, fondly known as “Espy Teacher.” A distinguished educator with 47 years of teaching experience, Ms. Alphonso continues to inspire young minds even after her retirement in 2013 from St. Sebastian Goan High School by teaching at Our Lady of Dolours High School.
She was awarded the prize for the best answer to the question “What Education Means To You?” by Chetana Publications. She is also a member of the Literary Sub-Committee at The Goan Institute, which organizes the prestigious All Bombay English Elocution Competition every year.
Widely regarded as a legend in the field of education, Ms. Alphonso has dedicated her life to nurturing excellence, promoting humane values, and creating opportunities for marginalized and underprivileged students. Her valuable guidance and encouraging words inspired all the participants to continue developing their public speaking skills.
The competition concluded with Zakir House emerging as the overall winner by securing the highest points, followed by Kaikobad House in second place. The event celebrated the spirit of healthy competition, confidence, and teamwork among all the participants.
Congratulations to all the winners and participants! Keep speaking with confidence and inspiring others!
