Micro World Exhibition

On 24th March, 2022, Our students of Std. VII – IX visited the ‘Micro World’ exhibition at Wilson College organised by the Microbiology Department. The students were accompanied by their science teacher Mrs. Shumaila Khan.

The exhibits consisted of slides arranged under the microscope to study different shapes bacteria, normal flora of the body, micro-organisms present in the pond water, fermented food, observation of fungus like Aspergillus and peniullium  under the microscope, extraction of DNA from onion cells, learning about Mitosis. (Observing cell-phases in the slides), Human Blood Grouping, Hemolysis, Antibiotics sensitivity test and Bacteriophase.

It was a stimulating experience for our students to observe microbes under the microscope. This created interest in our students to get in depth knowledge about different varieties of micro-organisms present around us. The Micro world exhibition was indeed informative and enlightening.
