The students of Bharda left for the Asiatic library on 22nd January 2020 at 10:54 am and they reached the library at 11:15 am. Their total strength was 52 students and 3 moderators. The students sat on the stairs of the library and their moderator Mrs. Rohini Khaire madam clicked their photos. Then they entered the library and saw many statutes of the great presidents who had run the library for 215 years. Then the students were divided into two groups. Mrs. Maya the head librarian and her assistant Miss. Jayshree gave them information about the library. They showed many old books and the ‘Thursday New Books’ section and the process to preserve the old books. Then they got to know about many types of memberships like research membership, reader membership and student membership.
Then the students went to the stamps section where Mr. Devagri gave them brief information about the ‘philatelist stamps’. He also told that the stamp collection is also known as the ‘king of hobby’ because stamps, are a source of great knowledge. After that sir told them about two types of stamps that are ‘Definative Stamps’ and ‘Commomerate stamps’. ‘Definative stamps’ are printed every year and they are used in legal purposes but ‘Commomerate stamps’ are printed only one time and it’s brought valuable as old it is. After the session, many boys bought the stamps.
After that Master Taher Satedawala gave a hearty vote of thanks and then the Assistant Head Boy Master Shashwat Tiwari thanked the librarian for their valuable information about the library. Then they left the Asiatic library and came to school with sweet memories.
