College cultural events are some of the most happening events in the city. The inauguration of The Sadabahar 2018 – the annual intercollegiate cultural fest organized by The Bharda New High School & Jr. College took place from 17th Dec. to 20th Dec.
The fest was organized and planned ably by Mrs. Arifa Shaikh and Mrs. Antarisha Chaterjee with the help of several student volunteers.
The college Principal Mrs. Vinita Lewis presided over the function. The Sadabahar – day fest was attended by many students from the colleges in South Mumbai. The students participated in different contests and competitions.
The highlights were events like
Solo and Duet Singing, mobile cover painting, poster making, chess and carom competitions, fashion show, dance competition, Rose Day & Saree Day was organized which was also very fun-filled and eventful. The students participated whole-heartedly and won many prizes.

Our principal Mrs. Vinita Lewis said that “The Sadabahar fest is a modest and very sincere attempt to take baby steps into the very colourful, vibrant world of college events. However she insisted on taking the event to the next level each year to include more competitions as she firmly believes that such cultural festivals provide a great platform to students to showcase their talent and develop their soft skills and social skills that truly prepare them for the world.
Overall the Sadabhar fest was a grand success, it concluded on a high note, as everybody danced, sang and partied, enjoying the DJ’s play list.
The vibrancy of the place held a promise to include more diverse events year after year.
